Sariana snorted at the boy's words, again wondering just how much she should believe; trust wasn't always the easiest thing for her to accomplish, particularly when she was angry. And as much she she would have loved to just believe, to forgive and forget, a combination of Tarkothos' steady anger and her own memory of reaching hands just wouldn't let her.
She had to admit she was mildly impressed at the way boy and fox stood against Tar's wings; though the fox was bristling, they didn't move from where they were. Credits to that pair- they weren't idiots like some of the other children Sariana and Tar had fought.
"Fah! I shouldn't know anything. In fact I'd rather not know anything at all about warriors and Tartars and battles and war!" Her anger, already bubbling, began to spill over and out- though not at the Gyptian boy, but at the fact that people wouldn't mind their own business and let Sar and her daemon go on their way. "But the moment people see a settled wolf standing next to a girl, they start yabbering to me, and I have a sit there and smile and nod and listen and say 'Of course' or 'You have a point there' whenever they pause, like I'm actually interested in what's going on in places I've never heard of. All I want to do is go back home and look after my family, but no! Lectures! Talks! Blabbering adults!"
Had they been on any other world- one of those places that Sar never even dreamed about, one of those daemonless places- then this would have been the perfect opportunity to sneak by, unnoticed by the ranting girl. But Tarkothos kept a steady watch from the air, keeping an eye on what Sar could not.
And alongside his child's rage, Tarkothos managed to spare a bit of hope for the boy and his daemon- Sar could be vicious when she was in this mood, and once she got going there was no way he could possibly hold her in check- or, for that matter, want to. The best course of action when this happened was usually to let Sar blow out all her steam- but that didn't always happen.

Zeph grinned, slightly. Not mocking her, but enjoying her rant. He looked at her, less angry and more scrutenizing. His hands were still at his sides. She could be pretty is she wasn't dressed like a boy, Zeph decided. His head had tilted, and he looked at her.
"Don't you want to go to any of those places?" He asked, fight forgotten for the moment, intrigued by the girl with the wolf daemon. It was an innocent question, something he thought about often. Cadetrn was still defensive, but Zeph was too curious to think of anything else. He was completely open, but didn;t thikn she'd hit him for asking a question.

Sariana took a brief break in her half-shouting, her waving arms stilling to fall at her sides as she noticed the change in the boy's attitude. No longer angry, his gaze made her feel slightly as though under a viewing glass. Suddenly self-conscious as she realized that she had been practically screaming, Sar tugged her necklace out and fiddled with it restlessly. What was this all about?
A question from the other child, and Sariana shot him a suspicious look. Was he trying to distract her or something? But he seemed innocent enough, his eyes curious despite the slightly defensive daemon at his feet, and the girl sighed as she thought about her answer. Tarkothos landed softly beside her, and the girl lay a hand on his huge black head, tucking the silver wolf back under her shirt as she did so.
"Sometimes. But I never really think about it, I suppose because- because I don't let myself. If I think about those other places too much, they might seem better than here, and I might leave. And I can't leave, because I'm needed here. My father and my grandmother- I can't leave them, they-"
Suddenly the girl stopped, her daemon tensing, betraying her agitation even before she shot another angry look from her green eyes. "Why am I telling you that? It's none of your business!" He anger rose back up in a flash, this time directed more at herself than anything else, though anyone nearby could still be in danger of getting their head bitten off if they said the wrong thing.

Tabbo raced after Sar and Tarkothos, his daemon literally hanging on by a claw. He didn't stop, now that he was so angry at the Gyptian boy. He was racist in a way, so what? He knew for a fact that Gyptians meant trouble, especially boys. Mainly because they were utter thieves and rats. They also didn't fight fair; it was already proven by two times. When Tyler had had his arm broken when there was more than just clay in the attack and just now, when the boy had nearly touched another daemon. Another daemon! Not only was it incredibly rude, it most likely made the victim nauseas and vulnerable. Touching a soul that wasn't your own...Tabbo shivered at the thought.
The dirty faced thirteen year old, skidded to Sar's side, annoyance at this actually not being the Gyptian that had hurt Tyler. Oh well, Tabbo thought, trying to hide his disappointment. We teach this guy a lesson and they'll never be back here again, right, Sax?
Saxaphoner was crawling down his arm to the ground, landing heavily as a small badger. At a distance, she could be thought a rather large black and white dog, but it only made him smile inwardly. Saxaphoner was furious too, mostly at the fact that the Gyptian boy had nearly touched another daemon. Though Tabbo had never personally met the girl with the lioness daemon, he had a feeling that he'd seen her around Jordan College.
"Oi," Tabbo snarled softly, barely restraining himself from grabbing the boy's tunic by the collar. "What the hell were you trying to do, Gyptian? That daemon barely escape, and it wasn't thanks to you."

"Skyran, what're you doing?" Artemis hissed to her daemon through the noise of the crowd, almost hugging herself as she always did in close proximity to a lot of other people. Skyran was shoving her way through the crowd, not bothering to notice what other daemons she jostled, and snarling at humans who wouldn't get out of the way. People were now parting just to avoid the angry big cat, and there were reproachful mutters from the crowd.
"Sky!" cried Artemis angrily, as the lioness shoved an otter daemon out of the way with her snout. Artemis quickly apologized to the young sailor, who picked up the otter, looking disgruntled. Quickly, Artemis stumbled forward to keep up with Skyran. "This is so unlike you! I thought you wanted to get back to Jordan!"
"I do," growled Skyran, eyes glaring firmly ahead. "But first I want to find that little rat Gyptian boy and give him a talking to about respecting other people's personal property."
"I'm not mad about the jam jar--" Artemis said quickly, not wanting to attract a fight. "Really, let's just go back--"
"I'm not going back!" growled Skyran, leaping forward, so that Artemis had to do so as well, almost knocking someone else down.
"Sky, the crowd!"
But Skyran was coping with the problem easily. Leaping up towards the next onslaught of people, the lioness roared, starting the crowd so that they swerved to avoid her. "Let's not do this again," muttered Artemis, following Skyran towards where the girl with the winged wolf and the two boys--the Gyptian and another college student seemed to be fighting.
"Skyran got away," said Artemis calmly as she could, stepped up almost between the two boys. "We're fine. We just don't appreciate people invading our space like that." Skyran growled approval, and made to take a step forward, unsheathing her claws, but Artemis shot her a look that held her back.

Sariana's head spun around at the quick arrival of Tabbo followed by the girl with the lion daemon; already confused and angry with herself, the recent turns of events were doing nothing good for her mind or temper. The only thing keeping her from totally flipping out was Tarkothos, who standing right next to her and pressing ihs head into her chest. Sar wound one hand into his fur and retreated a few paces, breathing heavily as she tried to force her thoughts and feelings into order.
That, she quickly decided, was an impossible task. Everything in Sar's head was wandering about in spirals of various speed and sizes, and Tar was spinning around in agitated circles. Hoping for a distraction, the girl looked back to the other three children, her gaze flipping from boy to girl to boy- Jordan to Jordan to Gyptian, gray fox to lion to red fox- friend, unknown quantity, and friend? enemy.

Zeph tensed up upon the arrival of the boy, and only looked away long enough to see the girl with the lion dameon. Quickly, he sputtered out an apology.
"Miss, I'm real sorry about before. I wouldn't of done it except I'm trying- was trying- wo get away from this college boy, who spits out Gyptian like it's a curse." After the sorry, his eyes strayed back to the boy, and stayed locked there, "I figured, even if I could hold my own agaist three people, But Irn's a fox, and There's a Lion, a Wolf, and an unsettled daemon. She didn't have a chance."
He Glanced at her again, then down at Cadeyrn, who was still bristled and staring at the daemons. Too many, too big, Zeph had said.

"Don't call me miss," was the first thing that Artemis said, quite automatically. She was going to get nowhere with Jordan if that's how people regarded her. That's it, thought Artemis. No more vanity this time. Im cutting my hair up to my ears, and only wearing boys' clothes for as long as I live.
"Anyway," she said, "it's okay. Skyran got away, and overreacted. We've been touched before, see, so we kind of freaked out. I know you were trying to get away, but next time, just don't go filching things, okay? That's what gives people the wrong ideas about Gyptians."
Artemis turned to Tabbo, and Skyran's ears prickled slightly with vague recognition. "We've seen him around the college before, I think," murmured the lioness. "Maybe . . ."
"Leave him alone, a bit, okay?" said Artemis, not wanting to start a fight with another kid. "I don't know what he's done, but Gyptians in general aren't bad people. I've traveled with some of 'em before, and they were quite good to us."

Tabbo snorted. "Really, eh? You ran away 'cuz I was sitting on my barrel. Now that's honest to heaven brave," he said in the most sarcastic voice he could muster. Saxaphoner was still a badger, snarling and growling, revealing all of his emotions. Unintentionally, of course, but he didn't have the mind or the heart to stop her. Tabbo hoped this Gyptian was scared of Sax.
"I've got a good reason to say it like that. A couple months ago, when the last Gyptians came to town, we got in our annual fight. Clay fight, only, so it wasn't like it was going to kill anyone. But then some idiot Gyptian throws a clod of clay with -metal- in it and strikes the weakest of our lot. Breaks 'zis arm, the boy does. Can't ever throw another piece of clay again, mind ever really use his arm properly. See, it shattered the bone in his elbow, 'cuz that's where it hit. Directly at it, center line. Broke it into tiny fragments. Tyler was bleeding and wailing so badly I don't think my ear drums will ever be the same again. The older Scholars and Doc's (doctors) at Jordan tried really hard to fix it, but it they couldn't heal it completely. So it's sort of immobile. Like this." Tabbo's left arm dropped to his side like a dead weight, and as to act the part, he scrunched up his face in pain as he tried to lift his arm upwards, as if reaching towards something.

"Might not be brave, but it was smart! You sayin' that if I came around with three of my friends, you'd stand and take it like a man!?" Zeph spat out at him, figuring that he was the only one he had to worry about now. "And Obviously, I wasn't that d**ned boy, because I haven't thrown Clay in at least two years! Thats Like Me Smackin' you because an Oxford kid hurt my brother. Don't be so ridiculous. It sounds like you just want to hit me for the sake of hitting me."
Zeph knew he could take on this kid, easy. He was bigger, stronger, and Cadeyrn may not be as tough as a badger, but she'd been in more fights. One was different than three. Zeph drew himself to his full hieght, and looked down on the kid. "I'd think twice befor eyou got near me, boy."

Even Sar winced at the anger in Tabbo's voice; though she could be vicious herself when needed, in her calmer (and slightly befuzzled) mood, had she been the target of the college boy's rage she probably would have reeled over before picking herself back up to fight.
Tarkothos' ears were swiveling around in turn to catch each person's words, and Sar could clearly hear the Gyptian boy's words through his hearing, which was of course superior to her own. She snorted a little, speaking before she could stop herself- "You don't sound too happy yourself when you say college." Though she shouldn't have been too surprised- his words earlier- Don't you want to go to any of those places?- should have given her forewarning that he wouldn't think much of someone willing to sit and study.
She didn't have much time to dwell on that, though, and a smile flickered across her face as she listened to the other girl's words and watched the expression on her face. Many a time had she worn that same look. Miss, young lady, and little girl were three things she would not stand for being called- and her temper was more than willing to back up that attitude.
"Whoa!" Sariana had let her attention drift for a few moments, and things were starting to look ugly. Tar filled her in on the rest of the conversation- the girl winced when broken arms came up but relaxing when no mention was made of blood- and took several long strides back to where the boys were standing, taking the lead from the other girl and standing nearly between them. As she did so, Tarkothos caught sight of a curious merchant several yards away, and sar whirled around to glare at him until he hastily went back to his wares.
"You two," Sar bega, tunring back around to face the other three children. "If you start fighting like ten-year-olds in the middle of a marketplace over bravery and a kid that he"- she gestured to the Gyptian boy-"apparently didn't hit, I'll- I'll- I'll bash your heads together and leave you on the ground to bleed to death!"
She would (probably) do no such thing, of course- but who, looking at her fierce green eyes and Tar's bared teeth, listening to her words and his growl, would doubt her?

Zeph burst into laughter, a bite hidden inside that wasn't directed at her. He Imagined this girl bashing his head with the smaller boys, and it just burst out. He Didn't back down, but waited for the College boy, before looking at her and smirking. "Boy, since She" - Jerked his head at Sariana- "Doesn't seem so keen on us fighting here, I know a place by the docks. I mean, there'a chance you could fall into the water but, you know how to swim, right?" There was a challenge in his voice, like if he didn't know how, then zeph was better tha him. It would make his day if this kid didn't know how to swim.

-Sorry about not replying in so long-
Tabbo's glare only intensified as he realized where this conversation was going. But his glare disappeared off his face as if someone had slapped him at the word "docks." Docks? Water? Well, his fight was lost. If he fell in, he wouldn't be able to get him out. Saxaphoner was also scared of swimming; she lost all control when it was above her head and morphed into all the wrong forms. She wouldn't be able to stay a fish a mere three seconds. And it wasn't light he, Tabbo Balric, could swim. He'd rather be insulted a thousand times over than experience a near -or maybe not so near- drowning.
Saxaphoner was trembling slightly, revealing his uneagerness to go even a foot near the docks. But he knew he'd never live it down if he just walked away without a fight. How could he ever be respected then? Respect was a major thing in Tabbo's eyes, an no way was he going to loose it just because of a moron who was too big for his shoes. Besides..I'll just be extra careful.
"Heh, three on one? That's a bit unfair if you ask me. For you, that is. I bet I could make you eat those words right here and now. But if you're so determined to go to the docks, it's fine with me. I can swim, so it won't be a problem." That last statement was a complete lie of course, but even Saxaphoner was holding back the emotions that was making Tabbo feel nauseas. However, she did slink back into a small gray fox, glaring at Cadeyrn. The boy ignored Sariana, wondering if she'd get mad at him for taking up this offer. Probably not. He hardly knew her.

Kayla Swift walked lazily through town. Her little cat daemon, Stormation, dragged behind her. "This is a really bad idea. You do know we'll be in so much trouble with Uncle Albert." He growled. Kayla kept walking, with just the words of, "I know." The girl kept walking, not bothering about how much Stormation was lagging behind. "Thats all very well." The gray tabby cat tried his best to catch up with Kayla, "But what if you get grounded, or you won't be able to climb on the rooves anymore or--"
"Storma, you get to worried. Now come on. I want to make the most of this visit." Storma shook his head, narrowing his glacier blue eyes at his human. Kayla didn't seem to notice, but she did notice a boy, his daemon a gray fox. She saw two girls aswell, one had a red fox as a daemon, and one a winged wolf. She walked over to them steadily. "Kayla, you-" Kayla waved her hand as a signal for Stormation to zip it, and for him to come to her. "Greetings." She said to the boys.

(OOC-...Sar's a girl, as is Artemis...)
Sariana's eyes flashed again as the Gyptian boy began to laugh; she straightened up further than she already had, prepared to dish out a very frustrated "don't-you-dare-laugh-like-that-because-I'm-not-joking" sort of lecture. But Tar put a cautioning paw on her foot and the girl paused, glancing at boy and daemon. She wasn't the one being laughed at, or at least that was how it seemed, and so she settled back down, her eyes turning curious. What exactly was so funny?
She never got her answer; the boy merely controlled his laughter and shot something at Tabbo about fighting somewhere else. The teenage girl rolled her eyes; what was it about boys and fighting? This image was furthered when Tabbo took up the offer, and Sariana raised an eyebrow at both boys, a little surprised. A fighter herself at times, she understood when someone felt that they couldn't back out, but Tarkothos was able to easily smell unease carried on the college boy's odor, and the same feeling was obvious on his face when his glare slipped. Obviously the idea of the docks wasn't a pleasant one for him- quite possibly he couldn't even swim- but stubbornness, determination, and pride kept Tabbo from backing down.
For once Sariana didn't comment, lost in thought about the psychological aspects of fighting. When did one back down? When did you push and when did you lob the ball back to your opponent's side of the court? But her thoughts were interrupted quickly as yet another girl entered they fray.
Sar was speechless. Her mouth opened, the closed, then opened again, but she couldn't think of anything to say; her hand crept to Tar's head, and she burrowed her fingers in his black fur in agitation. The huge wolf was fighting back the beginnings of a growl, as put off and slightly shocked by the arrival of another person as Sariana was. And what ever would the boys say?
Sariana's mouth closed again and her entire body tensed with Tarkothos'- just the slightest bit, but enough to allow her to dodge if anything happened. This could get interesting.
